  • Overview

    In regular consultation with key stakeholders including, but not limited to, the market leader, sales leader, Human Resources and Regional Education, the Training Manager will be responsible for managing and implementing the training and development initiatives for Travel Retail accounts in North Asia region through:

    • Assessing the training needs of the organization, and devising a training strategy
    • Partnering with the trade team to ensure training strategy is in line with business needs
    • Implementing training programs, assessment and qualifications systems to develop product expertise, service, selling and clienteling skills, improve store efficiencies, drive retail excellence, optimizing sales professionals productivity as well as brand loyalty, and market share growth
    • Influence the attitudes and mindsets of the retail teams with a focus on driving sales, developing clientele, meeting and exceeding the client experience objectives of the company
    • Implementing coaching training, build and drive an effective coaching culture amongst the store leadership to drive team performance


    Analyze Training Needs and Devise Training Strategy

    • Identify training and development needs within the organization through job analysis, surveys, studying performance management systems and regular consultation with Business Partners and Human Resources departments

    Planning, Program Development, & Delivery

    • Responsible for effective and efficient program management and delivery including: induction programs for new staff, new store opening training, sales, service, products, clienteling, team management programs
    • Responsible for program management including logistics, coordination of materials, budget and schedule
    • Responsible for management of e-learning training programs
    • Ensure quality of training materials translation
    • Research new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and present as necessary

    Coaching for Performance

    • Provide post-training follow-up program/skill building tools to Store Leader to ensure training effectiveness, including coaching
    • Partner with Store Managers to monitor and coach the sales force on their individual targets and debrief sales figures in real time
    • Monitor Key Performance Indicators and coach to exceed individual and team targets
    • Keep managers updated on all coaching conversations and action plans in a timely manner
    • Establish frequent check-in schedule with management, Training and Human resources

    Training Administration and Post-training Support

    • To review training programs/contents regularly in order to keep the materials most updated
    • To executive, control and track the training result according to plan
    • Training materials translation in terms of Products launch, PPT deck, tools, etc.
    • Logistics planning, coordination and administration for training events
    • Venue sourcing, packing/shipping training materials, training evaluation complication
    • Partner with subject matter experts and other training professionals as resources when required
    • Work with cross functional management, other departments, and regional function team to support the initiatives and efforts of the market



    • Bachelor Degree, major in Business Administration or related discipline
    • At least 5 years training and/or coaching experience for in sales, service, team management and leadership skills
    • Strong communication, training, presentation, facilitation, observation, coaching and interpersonal skills
    • Skill to plan and deliver results in a highly demanding environment
    • Excellent command on Microsoft Office software (excel, word, powerpoint)
    • Proficient in both written and spoken Cantonese, English and Mandarin 
    • Ability to take ownership and multi-task, and a good team player
    • Willingness to commute and travel in North Asia (requires weekend hours)
    • Excellent follow-up, organizational and project management skills


    • Professional knowledge of diamonds and gemstones
    • Retail sales experience in luxury and jewelry industry 
    • Regional and travel retail experience is an advantage
